Somerset is located in South (SW) Calgary Alberta and is served by the Somerset-Bridlewood station of the C-Train LRT system (201 line).
It is on the Southern edge of the city to the North of the Spruce Meadows Trail. To the East is the community of Bridlewood and West from Macleod Trail.
The Spruce Meadows Questrian Centre is located immediately Southwest of the Somerset community.
Being established in 1987 it is fairly new and in City Council it is in Ward13.
